2019 It's All Good
2nd Annual “No Bad Days Yoga Retreat”
This is the 2nd Annual Free Yoga Retreat held in Lake Havasu City, AZ at 1740 McCulluch Blvd. S, on Dub Campbell Parkway at the Rodeo Grounds November 29, 30, & December 1st.
2018 was the birth of an idea to create a Yoga Retreat that hosted classes that might bring a cultural awareness of yoga and the reality of possibilities. Doing something for the sake of others, because it hadn't been done here before, and for the sake of art. The weekend yoga retreat included a fire ceremony, traditional yoga, a nature hike, a talk on diet and yoga, and included free camping.
In 2019 the 2nd annual retreat is themed “Sustainability” and will include a Kid Zone with kid’s activities/yoga, an informative talk on environmental issues including water conservation, there are yoga instructors returning from last year to share their passion, a nature hike through the “Crack in the Mountain”, and vendors. Camping is free and includes onsite showers and restrooms. Yoga classes start Friday evening at 5:30 pm followed by the opening ceremony at 8:00 pm. Saturday look forward to yoga all day into the evening, choosing from 7 unique yoga classes starting at 6:30 am till 8:30 pm with a special 2 hr. class at 12:30 pm. On Sunday classes begin again at 6:30 am with the last call for yoga at 10:30 am, followed by a closing ceremony at 1:30 pm. Music will be performed by Josh and Melissa playing guitar and the harp, as well as recording artist from San Diego, DJ “DTO”. There will be a special guest playing music on the patio in the afternoon. I hope to duplicate the positive experience from last year, providing an honest yoga experience and continue this tradition of hosting the First annual Yoga Retreat in the Desert of Lake Havasu City every year the weekend after Thanksgiving.
On Friday November 29th the Rodeo Grounds opens at 12 noon for those camping. The first Yoga class starts at 5:40 pm (90 minutes), followed by the opening fire ceremony from 8:00 – 10:00 pm. Check the class listings at www.benhicksyoga.com under RETREAT at the bottom of the page.
This year’s event is themed “Sustainability” and “It’s All Good”, applying to anything from personal to community beliefs. The Mission Statement is: To inspire positive change through engaging activities and this year, a sustainable lifestyle.” I have been offering free meetups since 2010 and this is like the ultimate meetup, to share the experience of yoga, the natural environment in Lake Havasu, music and the positive energy that leads to transformation all made possible by the efforts of community and volunteers.
All the participants and Yoga instructors of the “No Bad Days Yoga” retreat share in the philosophy that a life worthwhile is enhanced greatly by a sustainable lifestyle. This Free event is made real through the time and energy of individuals committed to making a difference through service. I appreciate the support I have received and for the individuals from Lake Havasu and those travelling to be here from out of state and out of the country.
See you at the retreat, blessings.
